Your tiny little baby is now about .2-.25 inches-thats about the size of a pea! The head is
beginning to form with the beginning of facial features, feet buds and a pulsing heart. You may also be starting to feel changes to your body- some heartburn or nausea. (some moms find that if they avoid citruses, greasy, or spicy foods-they feel better. Dry and bland foods may also help. Ginger/lemon drops and saltine crackers can help) You may notice that your sense of smell has heightened and that your breasts are beginning to swell. You may also feel pressure in your lower abdomen and back .You might also experience some insomnia (increased progesterone) and some crazy strange dreams.
Hopefully you have been able to schedule your first medical appointment. You have several choices from whom to seek medical guidance. This includes ob/gyns, midwifes, nurse practitioners, and maternal fetal specialists. You must choose which is best and right for you & your baby. Your first visit might not be until 7 or 8 weeks so start a list now of any questions you may have. Regardless, be sure you are taking a good prenatal vitamin and start getting extra rest.
Now is a great time to start a pregnancy journal. You can record your experiences, changes, and memories of your pregnancy. It’s time to photograph the changing baby bumb.
